What the weather here is

The only country in the world entirely above 1,000 m — its lowest point is 1,400 m and Thabana Ntlenyana reaches 3,482 m — which makes it the coldest place in southern Africa. Snow falls on the highlands in any month and reliably in winter, temperatures at Letseng have gone below −20 °C, and the country runs a ski resort at 3,200 m. The altitude is also the economy: rain and snowmelt on the Maloti feed the Highlands Water Project, which sells water into South Africa's Vaal system. Rainfall of 700 to 1,000 mm arrives October to April, often as damaging hail.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Lesotho comes from Lesotho Meteorological Services.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
