What the weather here is

The government sits on Bioko, a volcanic island 40 km off Cameroon that catches the same monsoon flow Mount Cameroon does — Malabo takes around 2,000 mm and the southern side of the island near Ureca takes something closer to 10,000 mm, making it one of the wettest spots in Africa. Río Muni on the mainland is equatorial forest with the classic double season and a drier July-August lull. Annobón, 600 km southwest and below the equator, has its own regime again, drier and cooler under the South Atlantic trades.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Equatorial Guinea comes from Dirección General de Meteorología — via ASECNA.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
