What the weather here is
The smallest country on mainland Africa is essentially the floodplain of one river, and its weather is Senegal's with the maritime end emphasised: a hot dry season from November under the harmattan, and a sharp wet season from June to October that delivers 900 mm at Banjul and rather less upriver. Because the country is only 50 km wide and 480 km long, the useful forecast question is almost never north-south — it is how far up the river the sea breeze and the salt wedge reach on a given day.
