What the weather here is

A low, wet, tidal country — the Bijagós archipelago is 88 islands of mangrove and channel, and the mainland is barely above them. Bissau takes around 2,000 mm between June and October and almost nothing the rest of the year, which is one of the sharpest wet-dry splits in West Africa. Because the terrain is flat and the tidal range is 4 m, the flooding that matters is the combination — a monsoon squall on a spring tide reaches much further inland than either does alone.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Guinea-Bissau comes from Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia da Guiné-Bissau.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
