What the weather here is
Monrovia takes around 4,600 mm a year, which puts it among the wettest capital cities anywhere, and almost all of it falls between May and October. The oddity worth knowing is the little dry season — a break of two or three weeks in late July or August when the monsoon jumps north and the coast briefly clears, a feature shared right along the Guinea coast and one that farmers time planting around. Inland the total falls off fast; Nimba in the northeast is under half Monrovia's.
