What the weather here is

Morocco is the one country in North Africa with real mountains in the way, and they do all the work. The Rif and the Middle and High Atlas take Atlantic fronts on their western flanks and hold a genuine snowpack above 2,000 m — Oukaïmeden runs a ski lift at 3,200 m — while the ground immediately southeast of the same ridge is pre-Saharan and takes under 100 mm a year. The coast is cooled hard by Canary Current upwelling, so Essaouira sits in the low 20s through July while Marrakesh 170 km inland runs 38 °C. When the flow reverses and the chergui comes off the desert, the coast goes from 22 °C to 45 °C in a day.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Morocco comes from Direction de la Météorologie Nationale.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
