The numbers
What the weather here is
At 2°S you would expect equatorial heat; at 1,500 m you get 20 °C instead, which is Rwanda's entire appeal and the reason it is one of the most densely settled countries in Africa. Two wet seasons — March to May and September to December — deliver around 1,000 mm at Kigali and considerably more on the Congo-Nile divide in the west, where the Virunga volcanoes rise past 4,500 m. The hazard is the slope: steep, deforested, densely farmed hillsides on saturated ground, and the landslides that follow heavy May rain are a recurring national emergency.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Rwanda comes from Rwanda Meteorology Agency.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
