What the weather here is

Two thirds of Botswana is Kalahari, and the country's defining feature is a paradox: the Okavango Delta floods in the middle of the dry season. The water is Angolan highland rain from months earlier, working its way down the Cubango and spreading across 15,000 km² of sand to evaporate — the largest inland delta in the world, arriving in June when Botswana itself has had no rain since April. Gaborone takes about 540 mm between November and March, entirely from afternoon convection, and winter nights on the Kalahari routinely go below freezing under clear skies at 1,000 m.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Botswana comes from Botswana Meteorological Services.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
