What the weather here is

Everything Burkina Faso grows depends on rain that falls between June and September, and how much falls depends on how far north the monsoon pushes: Ouagadougou takes about 800 mm, Dori in the Sahel half that, and Gaoua in the southwest nearly 1,200 mm. The rest of the year is the harmattan — dry, dusty, and cool enough at night in December that Ouagadougou can drop to 15 °C after a 35 °C afternoon. The country sits far enough inland that its rain arrives almost entirely as organised squall lines rather than as scattered afternoon storms.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Burkina Faso comes from ANAM — Agence Nationale de la Météorologie.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
