What the weather here is
The country straddles the divide between the Congo and the Chari, which means the rain that falls on its southern half ends up in the Atlantic via Kinshasa and the rain on its northern half ends up evaporating in Lake Chad. Bangui takes about 1,550 mm across a long season running March to November, with the equatorial double peak just detectable; the far north at Birao is Sahelian with a single short season and half the total. Being landlocked, high (most of it is a plateau at 600 m) and away from any coast, its diurnal range is large and its storms are afternoon convection rather than organised lines.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Central African Republic comes from Direction de la Météorologie et de l'Hydrologie — via ASECNA.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
