What the weather here is

Sudan is the Sahara meeting the monsoon, and the meeting is violent. From June the rain belt reaches the centre of the country and mesoscale convective systems roll west across the Gezira; ahead of their outflow comes the haboob — a wall of dust up to a kilometre high that can drop visibility in Khartoum to nothing in minutes, and the Arabic word the rest of the world borrowed for it. The gradient is brutally steep: Wadi Halfa on the Egyptian border is effectively rainless, Khartoum takes 150 mm, and Juba's latitude — now South Sudan — takes 950 mm. Khartoum's summer afternoons routinely exceed 41 °C.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Sudan comes from Sudan Meteorological Authority.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
